What is vapour blasting?

Vapour blasting, also known as wet blasting or liquid honing, is becoming the number one choice for applications requiring the highest quality of surface finish.

The vapour blasting process uses an ultra-fine ‘media’ combined with water under high pressure compressed air, which cushions and lubricates the particles of the media when mixed together. This allows very fine finishes to be produced without any damage to the component being cleaned, unlike dry blasting where the finish is produced by the sheer force of media contact with the component.

This process is ideal for so many motor applications such as cast alloy, non-ferrous metals, cylinder heads, barrels, cranks cases, carburettors, engine covers, pistons and valves, the list goes on, the possibilities are endless.

Preparation

Engine parts need to be degreased and oil free prior to drop off or collection, some painted items may need to be nitro-morsed prior to using our service. However, we can carry out this work if required at an additional cost.
